Notarize pricing at a glance
These are the fees on Proof's public business pricing page at proof.com/pricing. Proof adjusts prices from time to time, so treat them as the starting point for a quote, not a contract.

Notarize pricing for title companies and lenders
Real estate runs on a separate price list. For title agencies, the Pro plan charges 99 USD for a mortgage closing meeting and 45 USD for a seller-side or cash transaction meeting, plus 4 USD per signer for identity and 4 USD per transaction for signing. API access and co-branding for title start at the custom-priced Premium tier.
Lenders are sold a Lender Premium package with custom pricing, unlimited seats, API access and co-branding. If you are a lender, the published numbers will not tell you much. Expect a negotiated rate tied to your loan volume.
For a title agency closing 20 cash deals a month with a buyer and a seller, the meeting fees alone are about 900 USD, before identity checks and signing fees. Our page on notary & title services shows how the same closings run on a monthly plan.
What actually drives a Notarize bill up
The 25 USD meeting price is the number everyone quotes. It is rarely the number on the invoice. Four line items do most of the damage:
- Additional signers. A buyer and co-buyer, two company officers or a husband and wife each add 10 USD, plus 4 USD for each identity check.
- Additional seals. Every notarized document after the first adds 15 USD. A closing package or a set of corporate resolutions can easily carry four or five.
- Witnesses. When state law or the document requires a witness and you use Proof's on-demand witness, that is 15 USD per witness.
- Platform tier. The moment you need your own notaries or an API connection to your case, title or HR system, you move to Pro+ and pay 199 USD a month before the first meeting.
A meeting with 2 signers and 3 documents costs 77 USD on Pro: 25 USD for the meeting, 8 USD for two identity checks, 4 USD for signing, 10 USD for the second signer and 30 USD for two extra seals. That is about three times the price people remember.
How to estimate your own monthly cost
Pull the last three months of notarization activity, or if you are new to online notarization, the last three months of documents your team sent to a mobile notary or a bank branch. For each month, count:
- 1 Meetings: one per signing event, not one per document.
- 2 Signers per meeting: everyone whose signature is notarized.
- 3 Documents per meeting: every document that gets its own notarial certificate and seal.
- 4 Witnesses: how many meetings needed one and how many.
Multiply those counts by the fees in the table above and add the platform fee if you need Pro+. Then take the busiest month, not the average, because that is the month your finance team will ask about.
When a monthly plan costs less than pay-as-you-go
Per-meeting pricing is the right choice for occasional use. If your team notarizes one or two documents a month, a plan with a monthly fee will cost more than Proof Pro, and we would tell you to stay where you are.
The math flips at steady volume. On ENotary, a session is one meeting with up to 4 signers and up to 10 documents, and identity checks and seals are included. Starter costs 119 USD per month for 4 sessions, Business 299 USD for 12 sessions and Scale 799 USD for 40 sessions.
| Monthly volume | Proof Pro | Proof Pro+ | ENotary |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4 meetings, 1 signer, 1 document | about 132 USD | about 331 USD | 119 USD (Starter) |
| 12 meetings, 2 signers, 3 documents | about 924 USD | about 1,123 USD | 299 USD (Business) |
| 40 meetings, 2 signers, 3 documents | about 3,080 USD | about 3,279 USD | 799 USD (Scale) |
The Proof columns use the published business fees and assume one identity check per signer. Your own numbers will differ, which is exactly why it is worth running them. For a wider comparison with OneNotary, BlueNotary, NotaryCam and DocuSign Notary, see our page on Notarize alternatives.
What in-house notaries cost on Proof and elsewhere
Many title agencies, law firms and banks already employ commissioned notaries. On Proof, bringing them onto the platform requires Pro+ at 199 USD per month, and each in-house meeting then costs 15 USD, with 5 USD for each additional seal and signer. For a team whose own notaries run 30 meetings a month, that is 649 USD a month before any network meetings.
On ENotary, own-notary seats are included from the Business plan up, and sessions your own notaries run do not count against the allowance. They get the same session room, identity checks, digital seal and audit trail as network sessions. The bring your own notary page covers how the seats work and what your notaries need to be authorized for remote online notarization in their state.
Questions to ask before you sign any notarization contract
Whichever platform you pick, get these answered in writing before your team commits:
- Is identity verification billed per signer or per meeting, and are failed identity attempts billed?
- How many documents and seals can one meeting cover before extra fees apply?
- Are witnesses included, and can signers bring their own witness at no charge?
- What happens to unused sessions or credits at the end of a billing period?
- How long are session recordings and audit trails kept, and can you export them in bulk if you leave?
- Is API access included on your plan, or does it require an upgrade?
Record retention matters more than people expect. Once a notarized agreement is executed, most legal and operations teams file it alongside the rest of the deal in their contract management software, so being able to export the sealed PDF and the audit trail cleanly is part of the real cost.
How much does Notarize charge per notarization?
Proof, formerly Notarize, charges businesses 25 USD per Notarize Network meeting on its Pro and Pro+ plans. Identity verification adds 4 USD, signing adds 4 USD per transaction, each additional signer adds 10 USD and each additional seal adds 15 USD. Real estate meetings are priced separately at 45 USD or 99 USD.
Does Notarize have a monthly subscription?
Yes. Proof Pro has no monthly fee, Pro+ costs 199 USD per month and adds API access, custom branding and in-house notaries, and Premium and Enterprise are priced by quote. All published tiers still charge per meeting on top of the platform fee.
Is Proof cheaper than a mobile notary?
Usually, for a single signer. A mobile notary typically charges a notarization fee set by state law plus a travel fee, while a Proof meeting starts at 25 USD with no travel. For multi-signer packages the gap narrows, because Proof bills each extra signer and seal separately.
What is the cheapest way for a business to notarize documents every week?
For weekly volume, a plan with sessions included is usually cheapest, because identity checks, signers and seals are not billed one by one. On ENotary, 12 sessions a month with up to 4 signers and 10 documents each cost 299 USD on the Business plan, or 249 USD per month billed yearly.
Choosing between per-meeting and monthly pricing
If you notarize a handful of documents a year, Proof's pay-as-you-go plan is simple and fair. If notarization is part of how your team closes deals, onboards employees or files for clients every week, the per-signer and per-seal fees are what you are really paying for, and a monthly plan turns them into one number.
