Notary API and webhooks
The ENotary REST API lets your title production software, loan origination system or HR platform start remote notarizations without anyone opening our app. Webhooks tell your system when each step happens. The API and webhooks are included on Scale and Enterprise.
What the notary API does
- Create a session from your own documents or from a saved template.
- Add signers and witnesses, and choose a scheduled or on-demand session.
- Choose a network notary or one of your own notaries.
- Read the status of each signer and each session.
- Download the sealed PDF when the session completes.
- Fetch the audit trail as JSON for your records.
Connect notarization to your own system
The API is part of the Scale plan.
Webhook events

| signer.invited | An invite is sent to a signer |
| signer.identity_verified | A signer passes all identity checks |
| signer.identity_failed | A signer fails an identity check |
| notary.joined | The notary joins the session room |
| session.completed | The notary applies the seal and the sealed documents are ready |
| session.cancelled | A session is cancelled before completion |
Each webhook is signed, so your system can confirm it came from ENotary.
A session in three calls
- 1 Create the session with your documents and signers.
- 2 Wait for the session.completed webhook.
- 3 Download the sealed documents and the audit trail.
Keys and access
- API keys are created by admins and can be limited to one team.
- Every call is logged with the key that made it.
- Keys can be rotated and revoked at any time.
- Traffic is encrypted with TLS.

Which plans include the API
The REST API and webhooks are included on Scale (799 USD per month) and Enterprise. Starter and Business include the full app and audit exports, without API access. Compare plans on the online notary cost page.
