Digital notary services replace paper, ink and couriers with a notarization that is signed, sealed and stored electronically. ENotary adds what business teams need on top: a record that shows whether the document changed, and an audit trail your compliance team can export.
What tamper-evident means
When the notary applies the digital certificate, the sealed PDF gets a cryptographic signature over its exact contents. If anyone changes a single character afterwards, the signature no longer matches and any standard PDF reader shows that the document was modified.
ENotary also records a SHA-256 fingerprint of each document when it is uploaded and again when it is sealed. Anyone holding a copy can calculate its fingerprint and compare it with the audit trail.

Storage and retention
Records stay in your workspace for the retention period required by the notary's commissioning state. Enterprise plans can set a longer custom retention. Records are encrypted in transit and at rest, and every access is logged.
