Proof vs PandaDoc Notary pricing for teams that notarize every month

PandaDoc Notary charges a flat 25 USD per notarial transaction with its own notaries, with no extra charge per signer or seal. Proof, formerly Notarize, charges 25 USD for the first meeting and then adds identity check, e-sign, signer and seal fees, so a two-signer session lands near 47 USD. For a team doing 12 or more sessions a month, a flat plan such as ENotary Business at 299 USD (149 USD billed yearly) can cost less than either.

The short answer

On published list prices PandaDoc Notary is cheaper than Proof for any session with more than one signer or more than one seal, because PandaDoc does not bill them separately. Proof is cheaper only when a session is one signer and one seal, and even then the difference is a few dollars. Both bill per transaction, so the monthly bill grows with every session. These notes use public pricing pages checked in October 2026, and either vendor can change fees, so confirm before you commit.

At 4 sessions a month, PandaDoc Notary is the cheapest of the three on a monthly bill, and we say so. The picture flips from about 12 sessions, where the flat plan matches PandaDoc's list price and the yearly rate halves it. A session on ENotary covers up to 4 signers and 10 documents.

If your staff are commissioned notaries

PandaDoc's bring-your-own-notary option starts at 69 USD per user per month plus 10 USD per transaction. Three notaries running 20 transactions each is 207 USD in seats plus 600 USD in transaction fees at list price. ENotary Business includes 2 own-notary seats and Scale includes 10, and sessions your notaries run do not use the network allowance. See bring your own notary.

What else belongs in the comparison

  • **Who supplies the notary.** Both vendors have networks, but hours and state coverage differ, so ask for evening and weekend availability in your states.
  • **Evidence.** Ask whether the recording, identity results and journal entry are exported with the sealed document.
  • **API and webhooks.** If your system will create sessions, neither vendor publishes API pricing. Ask for it in writing. Our notary API pricing article shows what to put in the quote request.
  • **Minimum term.** Per-transaction billing has no minimum, a plan does. A plan only pays off if you use the sessions.
  • **Contract terms.** Read the order form for auto-renewal and unused-session rules. If you want a quick way to check a long vendor agreement for cancellation and renewal clauses, a tool that lets you ask questions of a contract PDF saves a read-through.

Questions to put to either vendor

  • What is the total monthly cost at our volume, with two signers and the seals we really use?
  • Is the e-sign fee included, or added to each transaction?
  • Are volume discounts written into the order form, and at which thresholds?
  • Which states and hours do your network notaries cover?
  • What does the API cost and which webhook events do you send?
