BlueNotary vs Notarize pricing for teams that notarize every month

On published list prices BlueNotary is cheaper than Notarize, which now trades as Proof, for almost every business session. BlueNotary charges 25 USD for one stamp plus 5 USD per extra signer and 8 USD per extra stamp. Proof charges 25 USD for the first meeting and adds identity, e-sign, signer and seal fees, so a two-signer session lands near 47 USD against about 30 USD at BlueNotary. For a team that runs 12 or more sessions a month, a flat plan such as ENotary Business at 299 USD (149 USD billed yearly) can cost less than both.

The short answer

BlueNotary wins on price at every volume we model below, and the gap grows with extra signers and stamps. Proof's advantages are not on the price list: a larger brand, team and enterprise plans with an API, and integrations that some lenders and title agencies already use. Both bill per session, so the monthly bill climbs with every notarization. BlueNotary figures come from its pricing page and help center fee schedule as checked on October 5, 2026, and Proof figures from its help article as checked on October 24, 2026. Either vendor can change fees, so confirm before you commit.

BlueNotary also sells a Business Pro plan at 47 USD per seat per month for companies that use their own notary, and a flat package fee for loan closings. Proof's team and enterprise plans are priced by quote. Our BlueNotary pricing article walks through the BlueNotary fee schedule, and Proof pricing covers the Proof side.

What the same session costs at each vendor

Prices below are list prices without volume discounts. A session is one audio-video meeting with a network notary.

SessionBlueNotaryProofENotary

2 signers, 1 stamp30 USDabout 47 USDIncluded in plan

The Proof rows add the 25 USD meeting fee, 4 USD identity check per signer, 4 USD e-sign fee, 10 USD per extra signer and 15 USD per extra seal. The BlueNotary rows add 5 USD per extra signer and 8 USD per extra stamp. Proof may bill some of these differently by account, so treat the numbers as a guide.

A month at 4, 12 and 40 two-signer sessions

This table uses two signers and one stamp per session, the most common shape for a lease, a power of attorney or an HR form.

Sessions per monthBlueNotary (30 USD each)Proof (about 47 USD each)ENotary
4120 USDabout 188 USD119 USD on Starter, 59 USD billed yearly
12360 USDabout 564 USD299 USD on Business, 149 USD billed yearly
401,200 USDabout 1,880 USD799 USD on Scale, 399 USD billed yearly

With three stamps per session the gap widens: 12 sessions a month is about 552 USD at BlueNotary and about 924 USD at Proof, and 40 sessions is about 1,840 USD against about 3,080 USD. A session on ENotary covers up to 4 signers and 10 documents, so extra signers and stamps do not change the bill. At 4 sessions a month the three are close, and a pay-per-use vendor can be the right call for a team that notarizes only occasionally.

If your staff are commissioned notaries

BlueNotary Business Pro at 47 USD per seat per month includes 2 general sessions per seat and then charges 10 USD per session. Three notaries each running 20 sessions come to 141 USD in seats plus 540 USD in session fees, 681 USD at list price. Proof supports your own notaries only on team plans priced by quote. ENotary Business includes 2 own-notary seats and Scale includes 10, and sessions your notaries run do not use the network allowance. See bring your own notary.

What else belongs in the comparison

  • **Who supplies the notary.** Both have networks, but hours and state coverage differ, so ask for evening and weekend availability in your states.
  • **Evidence.** Ask whether the recording, identity results and journal entry are exported with the sealed document, and for how long they are kept.
  • **API and integrations.** If your system will create sessions, neither vendor publishes API pricing. Our notary API pricing article shows what to put in a request.
  • **Acceptance.** Some lenders and title underwriters name approved platforms. Ask the receiving party before you switch.
  • **Minimum term.** Per-session billing has no minimum, a plan does. A plan only pays off if you use the sessions.
  • **Drafting and review.** If your firm also drafts the paperwork, an AI legal assistant for law firms can take the first draft off the queue so the notary session is the last step.

Questions to put to either vendor

  • What is the total monthly cost at our volume, with the signers and stamps we really use?
  • Are identity checks and e-sign fees included or added to each session?
  • Are volume discounts written into the order form, and at which thresholds?
  • Which states and hours do your network notaries cover?
  • What does the API cost and which webhook events do you send?
