DocVerify notary alternative for remote online notary and online notary teams

DocVerify was one of the first eNotary platforms in the US. Black Knight bought it in 2020, ICE bought Black Knight in 2023, and the product is now folded into ICE's mortgage closing tools with no public price list. If your notaries or your office still run sessions on DocVerify, or you are looking for where to move them, ENotary gives you seats for your own notaries plus network notaries for every other session, from 119 USD a month, or 59 USD billed yearly.

The short answer for DocVerify users

DocVerify still exists, but not as the standalone product many notaries signed up for. As of October 2026, the old docverify.com address serves a security certificate that expired in May 2025, ICE's former DocVerify product page returns a not-found error, and Pennsylvania's approved vendor list names the platform "Expedite (formerly known as DocVerify)". ICE sells Expedite to lenders, settlement agents and title underwriters by quote.

That leaves two groups looking for a DocVerify alternative. Independent and staff notaries who used DocVerify as their remote notarization software, and companies (title offices, law firms, lenders, HR teams) that relied on a DocVerify notary or need notaries supplied. The right replacement depends on which group you are in, and the tables below show both.

Your notaries and ours on one plan

Business is 299 USD a month, or 149 USD billed yearly, with 2 own-notary seats whose sessions are not counted, plus 12 network notary sessions of up to 4 signers and 10 documents each.

The practical result: there is no self-serve DocVerify sign-up page to send a new notary to, and no published per-session price to budget against. If a lender or county specifically asks for the DocVerify or Expedite platform, ask ICE directly. For everything else, the market has moved to platforms with public pricing.

Notice the split in the second column. DocVerify was mainly software for commissioned notaries. If that is what you need, SIGNiX, Notary Hub and BlueNotary Business Pro are the closest like-for-like replacements. If your office also needs notaries supplied when your own are busy or out, you need a platform that offers both on one account.

What a month costs after you leave DocVerify

Each row is one month at list prices, monthly billing, no volume discounts. Own-notary sessions on ENotary are not counted against the plan.

Read it honestly. A single staff notary with light volume pays less on BlueNotary Business Pro or SIGNiX than on our Business plan with monthly billing, and that is the right choice if a day without coverage is acceptable. Our plan pays off when the office needs sessions covered on the days its notary cannot take them, when sessions carry several signers and documents, or when nobody on staff holds a commission.

Who replaces DocVerify with ENotary

  • Title and escrow offices that used DocVerify for closings and need a network notary when the closer is booked. See notary and title services.
  • Law firms with a paralegal notary who covers affidavits and powers of attorney but not every one. See notary services for business.
  • Mortgage lenders and credit unions whose branch notaries need backup for remote borrowers.
  • HR and operations teams that never had a notary and do not want to commission one. See company notary.
  • Offices with two or more commissioned notaries who want them in one workspace with senders. See how bring your own notary seats work.

When staying on DocVerify or Expedite makes sense

  • Your lender or settlement partner runs its closings inside ICE tools and requires the Expedite workflow.
  • You need in-person electronic notarization at a signing table next to remote sessions.
  • Your closing documents already flow through ICE's Encompass or Simplifile and the notarization step is part of that contract.

Outside those cases, a platform with a published price and a self-serve account is easier to budget and faster to roll out.

1

1. Export your journal and documents

Download your electronic journal entries, notarized documents and session recordings while you still have access. Your state's retention rules apply to the records, not to the platform.

2

2. Check your commission and certificate

Your notary needs an active commission, a remote online notary registration where the state requires one, and a digital certificate. Our guide to the digital certificate for online notary explains what to buy.

3

3. Invite your notaries to own-notary seats

Each notary adds their commission details, certificate and seal. Pick the plan on the online notary cost page.

4

4. Route overflow to network notaries

When your notary is out or booked, send the session to a network notary with one setting. Identity checks finish before the notary joins.

DocVerify notary questions buyers ask

Is DocVerify still in business?

DocVerify is owned by ICE Mortgage Technology, which acquired Black Knight in 2023, and Pennsylvania now lists the platform as Expedite, formerly known as DocVerify. As of October 2026 the old docverify.com site serves an expired certificate and ICE publishes no standalone DocVerify page, so new users go through ICE sales.

How much does DocVerify cost?

ICE does not publish DocVerify or Expedite pricing for remote online notarization, so the cost comes from a sales quote. For budgeting, published alternatives start around 25 USD per network notarization, 35 to 47 USD a month for own-notary software, or 119 USD a month for a plan with network sessions included.

Can a notary still sign up for DocVerify?

There is no self-serve DocVerify sign-up page as of October 2026, because the old site does not load securely and ICE routes requests through its sales team. A notary who wants remote notarization software today can pick SIGNiX, Notary Hub, BlueNotary or an own-notary seat on a business platform.

What is the best DocVerify alternative for a business?

For a single staff notary with light volume, BlueNotary Business Pro or SIGNiX are the closest like-for-like replacements. For a business that needs its own notaries and supplied notaries on one account, ENotary Business costs 299 USD a month, or 149 USD billed yearly, with 2 own-notary seats and 12 network sessions.

Is DocVerify remote online notary approved in my state?

Approval is listed per state. Pennsylvania lists Expedite, formerly DocVerify, for in-person electronic and remote notarization. Check your own state's approved vendor list before you choose any platform, because each commissioning state decides which remote notarization systems its notaries may use.
