ENotary

SIGNiX notary pricing and a SIGNiX alternative for teams that also need notaries supplied

SIGNiX sells remote online notarization software to people who already hold a notary commission. Its public price list shows 299 USD a year per notary on a three-year agreement, or 449 USD on a one-year agreement, plus a 50 USD monthly transaction minimum, 10 USD per transaction and 5 USD for each extra seal. SIGNiX does not supply the notary. ENotary is the alternative for a company that wants both: seats for its own notaries and network notaries for every other session, from 119 USD a month, or 59 USD billed yearly.

Commissioned staff notary at a bank office desk with a notary stamp and a laptop video session

The short answer on SIGNiX cost for a company

SIGNiX is one of the cheapest ways to put a single staff notary online. One notary running five simple sessions a month costs about 87 USD a month on the one-year agreement, and the price includes the X.509 digital certificate, the electronic journal, signer authentication and ten years of video storage.

The cost you do not see on the price list is the notary. Every SIGNiX session needs your own commissioned remote notary at the keyboard. When that person is on vacation, in a closing or has left the company, nothing gets notarized. Teams look for a SIGNiX alternative when they need sessions covered on those days, when a second or third notary joins, or when nobody on staff holds a commission at all.

Own-notary seats and network notaries on one plan

Business is 299 USD a month, or 149 USD billed yearly, with 2 own-notary seats whose sessions are not counted, plus 12 network notary sessions of up to 4 signers and 10 documents each.

The 50 USD minimum works as prepaid usage: it covers five one-seal transactions, and anything above it is billed separately. SIGNiX also runs a public directory of independent notaries who use its software. Those notaries set and collect their own fees, so the directory is a referral list, not a staffed service with a published price.

What a month costs on SIGNiX and on ENotary

Each row is one month at list prices on SIGNiX's one-year agreement, with the annual license spread over twelve months. On the three-year agreement, subtract about 12.50 USD a month per notary. The SIGNiX column does not include your notary's time. On ENotary, sessions your own notaries run are not counted against the plan, and network sessions cover up to 4 signers and 10 documents.

Read the table honestly. For one notary with light, one-seal volume, SIGNiX costs far less than our Business plan on monthly billing, and we would tell any buyer so. The lines cross when sessions carry several notarized documents, because SIGNiX adds 5 USD per extra seal and 10 USD per transaction with no ceiling. At two notaries and thirty three-seal sessions, SIGNiX costs more than twice Business on monthly billing. And for a team with no commissioned notary, SIGNiX is not an option until someone gets commissioned.

When SIGNiX is the better choice

A comparison that hid these cases would not help you choose.

  • You are an independent notary or signing agent who charges clients directly. SIGNiX is built for that model and does not touch your payments.
  • Your company has exactly one commissioned notary, volume is under about 15 one-seal sessions a month and a day without coverage is acceptable.
  • You need in-person electronic notarization next to remote sessions.
  • You want the digital certificate bundled with the software instead of buying it separately.
  • You are a broker-dealer, credit union or wealth firm that already runs SIGNiX e-signatures and wants notarization inside the same system.

ENotary is the better fit when notarization has to happen whether or not your notary is in the office, when sessions carry several notarized documents, or when two or more staff notaries and a group of senders need to work in one workspace on one bill.

Why teams look for a SIGNiX alternative

  • Coverage. A staff notary is one person with one calendar. Network notaries inside the plan cover vacations, sick days, peak weeks and after-hours signers.
  • No per-seal pricing. A closing set, an estate planning packet or a resolution with an affidavit is one session, not 10 USD plus 5 USD for each extra seal.
  • No multi-year commitment. The lowest SIGNiX price requires a three-year agreement. ENotary plans bill monthly or yearly.
  • Senders and notaries in one place. Paralegals, escrow officers and HR coordinators prepare documents and invite signers, and the session goes to your notary or to the network with one setting.
  • A bill finance can forecast. One plan price instead of a license, a minimum and usage that moves with every transaction.

Who moves from SIGNiX to ENotary

  • Title and escrow offices where one closer holds the commission and closings stack up at month end. See notary and title services.
  • Law firms whose paralegal notary cannot cover every affidavit and power of attorney. See notary services for business.
  • Banks, credit unions and lenders with branch notaries who need backup for remote borrowers.
  • HR and operations teams with no notary on staff that were told to buy software and get someone commissioned. See company notary.
  • Offices with two or more staff notaries comparing seat prices. See how bring your own notary seats work.

1. Count last quarter's sessions and seals

Pull your SIGNiX invoices and note transactions, extra seals and the days a session waited because the notary was unavailable.

2

2. Check your agreement term

A one-year or three-year SIGNiX agreement has an end date. Time the move to it, or run both side by side until it lapses.

3

3. Invite your notary to an own-notary seat

Your notary adds their commission details, digital certificate and seal as their commissioning state requires. Pick the plan on the online notary cost page.

4

4. Send overflow sessions to the network

When your notary is booked, choose a network notary for that session. Identity checks finish before the notary joins.

SIGNiX pricing questions buyers ask

How much does SIGNiX cost for a notary?

SIGNiX lists its Individual plan at 299 USD a year on a three-year agreement or 449 USD a year on a one-year agreement. On top of that there is a 50 USD monthly transaction minimum. Each transaction costs 10 USD with one notary seal included, and each additional seal costs 5 USD.

Does SIGNiX provide a notary?

No. SIGNiX provides the software, the digital certificate and the electronic journal, and your own commissioned notary performs every notarization. SIGNiX publishes a directory of independent notaries who use its platform, but those notaries set their own fees and are paid directly by the client.

What is the best SIGNiX alternative for a business?

It depends on who notarizes. For a single staff notary with light volume, Notary Hub and BlueNotary Business Pro are priced in the same range as SIGNiX. For a company that needs its own notaries and supplied notaries on one account, ENotary Business costs 299 USD a month, or 149 USD billed yearly, with 2 own-notary seats and 12 network sessions.

Is SIGNiX legit?

Yes. SIGNiX is a long-established digital signature and electronic notarization vendor based in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and its software is widely used by independent notaries and financial firms. The practical question for a company is whether software alone is enough, or whether it also needs notaries supplied.

Does SIGNiX charge per signer?

SIGNiX's published notary price list has no per-signer fee. It charges 10 USD per transaction with one notary seal included and 5 USD for each additional seal, against a 50 USD monthly minimum. Signer authentication is listed as included in every plan.

Can a company use SIGNiX without a commissioned notary?

No. Someone on your team must hold a notary commission and, where the state requires it, a remote online notary registration. A company without one can either get an employee commissioned or use a platform that supplies notaries, such as ENotary Starter at 119 USD a month with 4 network sessions.
